Millenary flowers from a floral kingdom...
I live in Cape Town situated at the south point of Africa. Cape Town is a beautiful city where the urban and rural meet and is set in an astounding floral kingdom. The name given to the local vegetation is known as 'Fynbos' or literally translated 'delicate bush'. While the area comprises less than
0.5% of the African continent it is covered by almost 20% of its flora! As I am sure you can imagine- this is a rich ground for inspiration!
Having had a love for flowers from the get go, my training as a master printmaking and the beautiful surroundings has led to the creation of Saint Mogue. Saint Mogue is all about attention to detail and paying homage to the beauty of the natural world of flora. An awareness of texture, color, shape and structure is an integral part of constructing my flowers. It is a labour of love that is infused with an appreciation of nature and craftmanship that I believe is so important when we mark special occasions with symbols that are to become heirlooms in the future!
